Joseph and I recently spent an entire week in Orlando with my family. Since we are Annual Paasholders at Walt Disney World we like to go often. On this particular trip we got to enjoy the Food and Wine festival at EPCOT.
The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival happens annually usually between September and November. You can read more about it here. There are different booths added between the regular countries with food and drinks from all over the globe. Read more ›
A friend who works for Disney Cruise Lines invited me and my family to join her at Disney for the day for free. A quick 2.5 hour drive for a free afternoon at Disney? We’d be crazy to say no!
Since we just recently went to all 4 parks in July we let her choose the park and she wanted to visit Hollywood Studios. I didn’t really enjoy any of the dining options last time we went so I researched where to go to eat and decided to check out Pizza Planet because I love Toy Story and it looked like fun. Next time I want to try the ABC Commissary because it seems to offer food that isn’t your “typical theme park” food. Unfortunately, there really isn’t too much to eat at Hollywood Studios.
Pizza Planet is tucked away in the back of Hollywood Studios. It’s not very close to the Toy Story Mania ride which is kinda weird, I assumed they’d be near each other. Read more ›
I’ve ridden quite a few roller coasters in my day. I’ve been a thrill seeker since I was a little girl. I was too short to ride a roller coaster when I was 5 (the roller coaster was Montu at Busch Gardens) and I still think of that as one of the worst days of my entire life.
A few of my favorites are:
The Hulk and Dragon Challenge (Dueling Dragons) at Islands of Adventures
The Mummy and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios
SheiKra, Kumba, and Montu at Busch Gardens
Manta and Kraken at Sea World
Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom
Rock’n’Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios
But Expedition Everest has to be my favorite after riding it 3 times on my recent trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom (2 of those times were in the front row). Why is it so amazing? Here’s a list to explain why! Because who doesn’t love a list?!
Welcome back! Last time I posted about Give Kids The World I was able to talk about the food options, train rides around the village, Amberville, and the Castle of Miracles before my post got too long. GKTW has so much to offer and I didn’t feel that it was appropriate to cut parts of the village out just so I could fit it all in one post. There is so much thought and consideration put into everything at GKTW and I feel like everyone should know about this amazing place. An example of the thought and consideration put into the village: each area is named after a different child for a different reason. I hope to inspire with my posts about the village or maybe my posts will help a family going to stay at GKTW feel more prepared before their trip. Maybe my posts will encourage someone to donate to GKTW. Either way, I just want to share the joy that this place gave me. Read more ›
AStaying at Give Kids the World Village was a once in a lifetime opportunity. It is unfortunate that a place like GKTW has to exist but the truth of the matter is that there are sick kids and GKTW helps these kids and their families forget about their problems, even if for just a week. The volunteers and staff, also known as Angels, do so much for the families that come to stay with them and the village offers so much, I could go on and on about what an amazing place GKTW is. Earlier this week I made a post raving about the amazing villa we stayed at but this post will focus on the village.
This past week I was given the amazing opportunity to join my stepson on his Dreams Come True trip to Disney World and part of that deal involves staying at this entirely free village for families on their own Make-a-Wish trips called Give Kids the World. This place was truly spectacular. Everything about GKTW was perfect. Everyone was so nice and sweet to us. So many local volunteers of all ages there around the clock ready and willing to do anything and everything we could ever need. There was so much to do at the village. I’ve never felt more at home while on a vacation.
This write up focuses on just the villa where we stayed. I mean it when I say I never felt more at home. This villa was beyond my wildest dreams! I loved staying here. Read more ›
